Joining us is easy

Kingsmead is, first and foremost, a family. The school is based on Christian principles, which means we expect everyone – teachers and children – to respect and look after one another.

Our pastoral care is excellent, and whatever age children join us we make sure it is a happy experience.

There are many opportunities for children, parents and families to see Kingsmead before deciding to join us. We have regular open days and evenings throughout the school year, and we are happy to organise additional visits for any families who cannot attend any of these dates.

Headmaster Mark Gibbons is available to meet prospective parents by appointment to talk in detail about their child, including any special talents or interests they have and whether they face any educational challenge – either as a gifted and talented pupil or as a child with a specific educational difficulty.

We arrange introductory days, and we make sure they feel familiar, relaxed and enjoyable for the visiting child. Their transition from visitor to pupil is swift and smooth.

Our Prospectus, plus details of our fees, terms & conditions, our school day times and our uniform, are all available on request or as downloads from this page. In addition to this information, during his meeting with you, the Headmaster will be able to advise whether any scholarships or bursaries are available at the time.

“The Infant Department is so friendly and welcoming. The staff make a real effort to ensure that the children settle in quickly and are happy. Because of this, my son is always excited to go to school and goes running in every day.”
