On Wednesday 21st June Thornton Hough Primary and Holy Trinity came to a Junior Athletics Day here at Kingsmead.
In all, 16 Year 7 and 8 students helped to organise the day and they did an amazing job, warming up groups of children, explaining and demonstrating the events and measuring and recording. There were 96 athletes taking part in all eight events: 400m, 75m sprint, ball push, standing board jump, five stride challenge, rounders ball throw, speed bounce and obstacle relay.
The sun shone on the children and on the many spectators who came to cheer on the competitors. All were rewarded with lolly ices and lemonade!
