THE Juniors have had the chance to prepare for the worst at lunchtimes this term, by attending the First Aid club run by Miss Davies and Mrs Kellett.
The pupils taking part in the club completed their assessment with Mrs Thomas this week and all have done exceptionally well.
The topics they covered over the term included:
- Bleeding and shock
- Coping in an emergency
- Anaphylactic shock
- Burns and fainting
- Recovery position
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
As well as learning the theory they carried out practical exercises during scenarios and case studies – using bandages, inhalers, training epi-pens, fake blood and even had a gory, realistic injured limb deal with. Special mention must also be made of Nathan, who gave up his lunchtime to help. Thank you Nathan!
